It is very necessary to choose a suitable style of thread packaging for machine(s) and the type of production in use for effective handling of the yarns. To meet the requirements of its clients, Bandhu offers various types of thread package (make–ups). While packaging, threads are wound using modern, automated machinery especially designed for the purpose ensuring precision winding to accurate thread lengths.
TUBES / COPS - are small, cylindrical flange-less cardboard or plastic parallel tubes on which thread is cross wound for stability. The lack of flanges facilitates regular off-winding on industrial sewing machines, mainly lock-stitch. Cops are a popular make–up in fashion trades, where a variety of shades are used and production runs in any one color are fairly short. They are available in medium lengths, generally from 400 – 2000 meters.
CONES – are more accurately described as truncated geometric cones on to which thread is cross wound for stability and good off winding performance. They contain relatively long lengths 1000 meters or more of soft, mercerized cotton and spun polyester. They give trouble free thread delivery at intermittent or continuous high speed. Cones are economical packages for sewing thread in situations where thread consumption is high and production runs are along with limited shade and thread changes.
Y-CONES – are low angled cones with an additional base in the form of a raised flange which may incorporate a small lip. Y-cones may contain short or long lengths of thread. They are designed to contain any spillage which may occur in off winding these smooth threads, with no snagging or trapping when the slack thread is taken up.
